A Call for Prayer
Hi all - My dear folks are dealing with some significant challenges in their lives. Both are 80+, and do not consider themselves followers of Jesus. They need your prayers. First and foremost, they need to experience God’s redemption. But here are some other things for you to pray for.
- My mom has broken her hip in three places. She is in extreme pain, despite three very strong narcotic pain relievers. Plus, she is a stubborn German lady who is not content sitting around not able to move normally. Please pray for relief from pain and that God would meet her in her extreme discomfort.
- My dad was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He is doing ok, mostly, though he gets combative when he is not able to drive. He is also an ostomate, which means he has to wear an appliance instead of being able to go #2 the traditional way. He is forgetting how to manage this part of his life, so this is very hard for him and my mom. Please pray for presence of mind for my dad, as well as understanding of God and His grace, so he can grab hold of both during this hard time.
- As you might imagine, my mom has not only had to cope with her pain and immobility, but she is grieving the loss of my dad to alzheimer’s. He is not the same man he used to be, so this is very difficult for her. Plus, she is emotionally flooded after 18+ years of treatments for non-hodgkins lymphoma (did I say my mom was a stubborn German lady??). Please pray for her peace and reliance on God during this time, so she can bear the grief and suffering she is experiencing.
- My parents have limited financian resources, so $250/day in-home care is not a long term option. Please pray for God’s financial provision for my parents during this time, that they might see His mighty love.
Thanks! Your prayers will avail much.
